Have you met David Tuff? This is the third year he’s run this fundraiser with the support of Edmonton’s art community. Come out to Happy Harbor/Wonderland Comics on October 12th and bear witness to an incredible art competition for a great cause!
The third annual Art for Heart Event, a fundraiser in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation is going down Saturday Oct 12th at Happy Harbor / Wonderland Comics in Edmonton. Make sure to mark it down in your calendar, tell everyone you know and prepare for tons of fun at this family friendly all ages event!
The fun starts at 1:00 pm with a live art battle between eight amazing artists, followed by some awesome live music to finish the day off! Bid on amazing original art created on the spot during the art battle based on suggestions from you (the crowd) along with checking out the awesome original art and other cool items on showcase for the silent auction (the silent auction running from Oct 5th until Oct 19th). Bidding for the silent auction is available both in store and online (follow the facebook event page here or on instagram.ca/artforheartcharity to keep track of all online bids).
Now this question comes up all the time, what is an art battle? Let me tell you, it’s tons of fun and is only made better by the more people that attend. You get to watch eight amazing artists separated into two separate teams battle it out on the canvas. 12 rounds of art between 15-30 mins each, all with a predetermined theme and characters chosen by the audience, you watch between 1-4 artists from each team draw on the spot on large easels in front of the crowd. The art created is then auctioned off live!
100% of all proceeds from the live auction, silent auction, and any donations made throughout the event are all donated directly to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation!
