There’s been a lot of big Harry Potter events in Edmonton announced lately (like the pop-up or the upcoming festival) and now there’s going to be the return of witch/wizard school!
Tickets are free but you need to register to get one. The link is here!
Let’s Talk Science is proud to announce the return of our 6th annual “School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Science is Magic!”. It will be held once again in the Katz Pharmacy Building at the University of Alberta on Saturday October 28th. This event is open to the public and runs all day from 10 AM until 4 PM.
Come out on Saturday October 28th to witness magic unfold in the form of science! Classes offered this year include Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, Muggle Studies, Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts and many more! Let’s Talk Science has organized a series of magic-themed hands-on science activities, demonstrations and shows for children ages 7 – 15 to participate in, but everyone of all ages is welcome to attend. We will have our amazing Professors put on Potions shows again this year and a couple new surprises! You don’t want to miss out on our 6th year of School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Science is Magic 2017! All children (Ages 15 and under) must be accompanied by adults.
When: Saturday October 28th, 2017 from 10 AM to 4 PM (tickets are for the morning session 10 AM – 1 PM or afternoon session 1 PM – 4 PM).
Where: Katz Group – Rexall Centre for Pharmacy and Health Research Atrium (enter via the 114th Street entrance, just south of the 87th Avenue intersection).
LRT station closest to the event: Health Sciences/Jubilee station
Please register in advance – this information will allow us to plan appropriately for the day. Morning attendees will not be asked to leave in the afternoon – times are just our way of spreading attendance out over the whole day.
Please include all members who will be coming along with you when registering for the amount of tickets (include yourself and any adults plus children in the total number).
There is no cost to attend this event, but we ask that all participants register and reserve their free tickets online.
This event is run by students who volunteer their time and off donations which allows us to keep coming back every year to teach all the wizards and witches of Edmonton. We will be accepting donations at the door, and any contribution is greatly appreciated! We also have an online donation account: https://chimp.net/groups/let-s-talk-science-at-the-university-of-alberta
