Calling all superheroes! Time to get changed into your tights/capes/armour and come out to support local families. (Cosplayers should make sure their cosplay will survive 5km…)

Event link here.

We are pleased to invite you to our “3rd Annual Autism
Superhero 5km Walk/Run”. Come out for a fantastic day of fun and
laughter for a great cause! Leave your secret identity behind and
show off your best superhero costume!

All proceeds will go to Connect-Belong-Grow, a Non-Profit Society for Families with Autism. Connect-Belong-Grow aims to strengthen the family unit of those caring for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

As a mother of a child with Autism, I recognized the need for a social support network which led to the creation of this Non-Profit Society. Connect-Belong-Grow will provide support to families through initiatives such as take-home kits, developed to provide information on Autism and other tips to help their loved ones at home. Connect-Belong-Grow will also organize social events to promote inclusion and belonging for families and individuals with Autism. Your support, through registering for our race or by becoming an event sponsor, will provide us with the opportunity to provide these social support initiatives to families with Autism. All proceeds will go to Connect-Belong-Grow (Autism Support Association). We hope to see you there and share a day of fun memories!

About our Society-
Connect-Belong-Grow is a Non-Profit Society established to support families and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our fundamental goal as a society is to strengthen the family unit through activities that foster support and inspire connections among these families. Connect-Belong-Grow recognizes that when a family is initially receiving or is already living with a diagnosis of Autism, there are many challenges and questions. Our Non-Profit Society extends support to the family unit during this crucial time (with initiatives of support and belonging). We provide families with information to foster Autism Awareness to educate about the condition, as well as providing strategies to cope with the daily activities of life. We believe that knowledge empowers families with
Autism and helps to change from a perspective of despair that they may experience at an initial diagnosis to a perspective of hope.

The second goal of our society is to inspire a community of belonging amount families with Autism. Connect-Belong-Grow will be organizing community events to promote connections and create inclusive activities for those with Autism. Our community events will be determined based on funds raised during our 3rd Annual Autism Superhero Race, and will be announced soon after. We hope to raise funds which will allow us to organize exciting family events, keeping in mind the sensory sensitivity requirements for those with Autism. An example event is a Santa Meet and Greet in a quiet and calm environment. This is so important for the families and children with Autism to feel welcome; our goal is to reduce isolation in families with Autism by accommodating to their needs. Everyone wants to feel included and find a place where they belong and this is what we hope to create!
If you would like to offer your support to our society please consider sponsoring or attending our 3rd Annual Autism Superhero Race.

We hope you will join us for a day of fun for a great cause!
