It seems like I haven’t posted about Edmonton’s Steampunk community in ages. Now I know why… They’ve been planning another major event!

Are you ready to be bad?
Nestled in a back alley of Whyte Ave lies the entrance to the darkest tea house in Edmonton, Alberta -Villains, rogues and sky pirates are invited to NightJar for a diabolical time of merry making and photo taking…
On June 10th , Giggle juice will pour into tea cups while devious shenanigans are planned over a game of chance. A saturated smoky lounge atmosphere will transport you into the jazzy roaring twenties, leaving your feet and inhibitions free to dance it out on the floor to the tunes of snazzy electric swing. Enjoy the sinfully delicious tea and devil water drink combos, sure to delight every evil taste, and pair it with the array of tea snacks available to blackguards in attendance.
It’s an afternoon of despicably good times with your fellow ne’er-do-wells but watch out! The coppers are on the beat to crack down on poor innocent scoundrels , looking for the hideouts of caitiff’s who enjoy the giggle juice and parlor games. Better pack bribe money just in case something embarrassing happens…
Photographers – are you looking to test your skills inside one of the shadiest gathering places for evil minds? Then bring your camera and your wits for an afternoon of rich details, tantalizing scenarios and leave with one hell of a story to tell.
It’s going to be good to be bad this June so leave your cares behind to pack your weapon props, your evil plots and slip on your steampunk villain costume for a tea party you won’t want to miss.

What is it: a boozy tea party and photoshoot

Time: 1-6pm, please arrive on time to enjoy the most of the event
– 18+ event
– Steampunk/1920s swing attire/villain costumes strongly encouraged to have the most devious time. Photographers not expected to be in costume but are always encouraged to.
– Guests are encouraged to bring their large weapon props, a tea cup and be in costume.

Tickets include: entry and re-entry to Nightjar, access to specialty tea drinks, non-boozy drinks, assorted complimentary tea snacks included (while quantities last)

-Tickets are limited. Please buy one in advance to ensure you can attend the party and photoshoot. Due to the nature of the event, ticket refunds are not available.
-Coat check is not available at this event.
-Sadly, this venue is not wheelchair accessible.
-Photographers are asked to bring a small amount of equipment for photo taking due to the constraints of the venue space.
