After an extended silence on Social Media, local video game developer Beamdog has been teasing an announcement for the last few days and they’re being a little coy about what it is. They keep mentioning “Plan Escape”, a supposed travel company run by their Project Designer Phil Daigle (according to his Twitter account at any rate).
Accompanying these posts is a link to www.PlanEscape.com, whose only content is an ominous countdown due to end on Tuesday afternoon.
Just about positive at this point as to what it is but if you want to maintain the mystery, don’t scroll down… (Spoiler below)

Ok. If you haven’t already guessed but “PlanEscape” also spells “Planescape”, a very well-known & well-loved Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting. The likely connection here is that Beamdog is known for an enhanced edition of Balder’s Gate, so they’ve likely given the Planescape: Torment video game the same treatment.
A bit more evidence to support this is that Wizards of The Coast has been re-posting & retweeting the Plan Escape without any further explanation. Internet speculation is that maybe the Planescape setting is getting a relaunch or update to 5th Edition.
One last bit is that in the source for the page itself is the line secret=”0x50 0x53 0x54 0x45 0x45″, which translates to “PSTEE” in ASCII characters.
Anyone want guess that stands for Plane Scape Torment Enhanced Edition?
