Just in case you were wondering, Edmonton’s Comic & Gaming Stores (and now Artists)  have a ton of fundraising efforts in the works for Fort McMurray Evacuees of the #YMMFire. A quick rundown of some of the options for you to support the relief effort. There’ll be more. We have a lot of irons in the fire and the Edmonton Nerd Community is hungry to give.

Stores/Cafes/Attractions offering promotions or events:

-The 501st Legion will be at the “May the Fort be With You” fundraiser on May 14th. Get your picture taken with Stormtroopers!
The Adventurer’s Guild will be adding a $4 donation fee to all events on May 14th and then matching the total raised to donate to the Red Cross.
Black Sheep Gifts is hosting a “Cosplayers for Fort Mac” event to raise money on May 14th.
Collector’s Edge is offering 10% off to Fort Mac residents
GTFO Escape will be donating 100% of their proceeds on Sunday May 8th to the Red Cross.
Happy Harbor will be donating 5% of sales from Free Comic Book day on Saturday to the Red Cross
Hexagon Board Game Cafe is offering 3 days of free gaming to Fort Mac evacuees.
Intrap Escape Room will donate all of their revenue from May 9th & 10th to the Red Cross.
MacBeth Comics will be coordinating an fundraising event (Details to follow)
Mission Fun & Games is offering free game play and has a promotion
OverKlocked Gaming & Computers is offering their services free of charge to displaced Fort Mac residents.
Quantum Comics is collecting donations on behalf of the Red Cross
Red Claw Gaming is having a free draft Fort Mac MTG players on May 12th.
SmartyPantz Edmonton will be offering free plays to Fort Mac residents and donating 10% of proceeds from May 9th to May 15th to the Red Cross.
Taps For Effect is collecting and donating games to families displaced by the fire.
Telus World Of Science is offering free admission to Fort Mac residents.
Thrillscape is offering free Escape Room visits to Fort Mac residents.
Variant Edition is taking donations for the Red Cross and is coordinating a fundraising auction with us!
Warp One & Warp Two will be taking donations of board games and donating their own as well. Anyone with a Fort Mac ID will be able to come in and take one free of charge.
We Have Issues is holding a colouring contest with an awesome prize in support of Fort Mac residents. Details on Facebook.

Projekt Kitsune is donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of his artwork.

Groups:

Edmonton Cosplayers will be having a Cosplay event for kids on May 14th & 15th. Details here.
